Cosmetic treatments

I have been providing facial cosmetic treatments for over 15 years. These include both surgcial and non surgical procedures.

The process involves a full and thourough consultation, which does not commit you to any treatment. All  treatment is carried out by me personally.

The treatments I offer include:

Botox treatment as an anti wrinkle treatment

Botox treatment is a revolutionary approach to reversing the affects of facial wrinkles. Crow's feet, worry lines and laugh lines can all be a thing of the past. These are referred to as dynamic wrinkle lines and all are treatable with this procedure. Cosmetic denervation is the process of injecting botox into the tiny facial muscles that create the wrinkles.

Botox injections are performed without anesthesia as it is virtually painless. Only a very small sting is felt when the injections are made. The effects are not permanent and may need to be repeated two to three times per year to retain the effects. Research has suggested, however, that long-term use of the injections leads to a longer duration of each treatment's effect. Patients over the age of 65 may not experience as dramatic of results. Botox is only useful in treating expression lines and cannot be used to repair sagging skin caused by aging.

Immediatly after treatment, the treated area may be slightly red.   Some people may experience slight bruising at he site of injection.  This is normal and can be easily covered with make-up.  Injection of minute amounts of Botox immobilizes the muscle and reduces frown lines, crow's feet, and expression lines.  The results are usually noted within three to four days.  A single treatment may last for three to five months.  The treatment reduces muscle activity in the upper facial area resulting in a more youthful look.  Treatment is safe and effective.

Botox for excessive sweating

Severe underarm sweating, or severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, is a medical condition that involves overactive sweat glands.

Over-the-counter antiperspirants work by blocking sweat ducts, thereby reducing the amount of perspiration that reaches the skin.  Alternatively herbal remedies such as sage tea or sage tablets, chamomile, valerian root, and St. John’s Wort, as well as biofeedback, acupuncture, hypnosis, and relaxation techniques, are sometimes suggested as treatments for severe underarm sweating. Botox is approved by the FDA to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when medicines used on the skin (topical) do not work well enough. Botox is injected into the affected areas to help control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. Iontophoresis This procedure involves sending a small electrical current to the surface of the affected area while it is submerged in water. In general, treatments must be repeated 3-4 times per week. The procedure can be done at home using a home device.  A variety of surgical approaches have been used to treat severe underarm sweating, but they are usually reserved for the most extreme cases that do not respond to other treatments. One of the most common types of surgery used today for this condition is called endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS). With ETS, the patient is put to sleep with general anesthesia and then the surgeon attempts to interrupt the transmission of nerve signals between the spinal column and sweat glands in the affected area. Other types of surgery sometimes used for severe underarm sweating include liposuction and removal of the sweat glands under the armpits.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Teosyal are used as an effective treatment for deep lines and wrinkles. They can help reduce deep lines and wrinkles, fill hollows and smooth the contours of your face. Anti-ageing facial fillers are the non-surgical way to achieve younger looking skin and provide volume for tired lines and wrinkles.

As your skin ages, it loses the collagen that helps shape and support it. Natural lines and wrinkles deepen. Sun exposure, smoking, air pollution and even stress can all age your appearance. The face can also begin to lose volume giving sunken cheeks and a ‘dragged down’ appearance.

The non-invasive treatment causes little downtime and results in a reduction of lines and wrinkles to give a more youthful looking appearance. It also replenishes lost volume for a softer younger look. The results may last for up to 12-18 months.

Dermal fillers are used to plump and fill lines to soften them. They are often particularly useful for the lips, nose to lip lines, peri-oral line and the lip to chin lines.

Facial skin peels

Over the years, your skin can gradually appear dull and lifeless. This can be caused by dead skin cells that accumulate and clog up your skin.

Chemical facial peels aim to remove the dead skin cells from the skins surface to allow new healthy skin cells to grow back creating smoother looking skin. They can also be used to treat blemishes, scars and help reduce the signs of ageing.

A skin peel is an accelerated form of exfoliation to revitalise skin tone and improve texture and may be used to rejuvenate skin around the eyes, mouth and on the face. It can also help to reduce acne scarring, reverse skin damage, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, remove hyper-pigmentation other signs of ageing

The acids within the peel used work by bringing the pH of the skin to an optimum acidity level. This action chemically loosens the "glue" that binds the dead and damaged cells causing exfoliation and allow the promotion of new cell growth.

The skin peels typically takes 30-45 minutes and the down time varies depending on the depth of the peel but is typically about 7 -10 days.
